A little about myself...
I am a strong supporter of DevOps culture. Advocate of “Infrastructure As Code”. Building infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google’s Cloud Platform (GCP) using AWS APIs, Python, Chef, Docker, Terraform and CloudFormation. I am a strong believer in team communication and project management.
Experience
Deputy Director of Engineering; (Progressive driven SaaS company in the Boston area), 2017 - Present
- Leader of SysOps & SRE teams responsible for operation and improvement of all production systems
- Production LAMP stack for fundraising campaigns and forms. Includes the Client Edges which terminates SSL for vanity domains.
- PCI compliant Payment Gateway system architected and implemented the migration originally a lift and shift from the Data center to AWS and then again migrated to a serverless platform design for cost savings in overhead.
- Designed CI/CD deployment system with AWS Codedeploy and codepipeline.
- Architected and led the implementation of a new bulk mailer to improve throughput and deliverability at a lower TCO.
- Scaled this platform to handle a very important political Campaign and sent over 279 Million emails in a 24 hour period
- Sent over 18 billion emails in a year
- Designed a new Bounce processing system to meet scale and demand of our increasing load leveraging microservice patterns
- Oversaw the creation of a cutting edge PAAS using AWS tooling to meet unique business needs

Senior Platform Engineer; (Progressive driven SaaS company in the Boston area), MA — 2013-2017
- Developed tooling to manage infrastructure in AWS and GCP using Python Fabric
- Mentored other teams to adopt workflow threw Pull requests and code reviews.
- Developed a CI suite using Packer and BuildBot for AWS AMIs
- Biweekly Rolling deployments for patching systems for CVE’s
- Managed infrastructure with Chef, Docker, Terraform, and Nomad
- Developed and implemented procedures to move towards test driven development patterns for Infrastructure as code.
- Managed and developed a self-service tool(ClientConfig) for Client Services
- Designed a micro-service for deploying OpenDKIM keys for our clients that was a selfservice for CS eliminating 15% of teams time as tickets prior to the service.
- Migrated proprietary load balancing infrastructure to Akamai, Haproxy, and AWS
- Ultimately saving an entire full time headcount in overhead with a self service application that CS could use to setup Client Certs using AWS ACM and other services including AWS Lambda and some glue code with Node JS.

- Architected multiple datacenter distributed NoSQL databases
- Migrated sharded MySQL database to a distributed multiple datacenter solution
